How about just crimping the tube, as a temp fix to see if it makes a difference? Then if you like it, remove the tube. If not, uncrimp, and done.

I don't know. Crimping might ruin the tube.
You could probably get away with just disconnecting the small tube from the CAI elbow and then plugging the tube and the elbow.

Hi guys - sorry, I forgot about this thread.

So, doing an aftermarket intake is still a "no" for now (I'm working on her...). Does anyone know what size plugs I would need to scrap the tube and plug the intake and firewall holes?

FWIW, I just found out that my STi has this thing, too. However, I'm doing aftermarket intake, and the same supplier sells a grommet to plug the leftover firewall hole, so it's much easier on this car.

Anyone running the stock intake without the sound tube yet? This noise is getting seriously annoying.

wow! sure is hot in here!I do not know what all the hubbub is about,I have a 6 and the other day I was behind a v6 'loaner' from a local dealer the guy was getting on it,I got close behind him when he floored it and it sounded good!that the only sound I care about!
