How about just crimping the tube, as a temp fix to see if it makes a difference? Then if you like it, remove the tube. If not, uncrimp, and done.

Hi guys - sorry, I forgot about this thread.
So, doing an aftermarket intake is still a "no" for now (I'm working on her...). Does anyone know what size plugs I would need to scrap the tube and plug the intake and firewall holes? Thanks! FWIW, I just found out that my STi has this thing, too. However, I'm doing aftermarket intake, and the same supplier sells a grommet to plug the leftover firewall hole, so it's much easier on this car.

wow! sure is hot in here!I do not know what all the hubbub is about,I have a 6 and the other day I was behind a v6 'loaner' from a local dealer the guy was getting on it,I got close behind him when he floored it and it sounded good!that the only sound I care about!
