Question First fill up problems?

So I filled up my 2SS/RS SIM the other day for the first time!

Couple things: First, i didn't find a problem with the gas cap holder like some people have on this forum i don't see what is wrong with it i seems to work fine for me???

Second, I found myself having to hold the nozzle more upright in order for it to fill up? When I simply locked the handle in place and set it in the gas tank it kept "unclicking" I had to hold the nozzle the whole time while it was filling up which was just strange to me. Yes I know it is simple to do and doesn't take much time but I don't feel that I should be having to do it. Just set it and forget it like every other car.

p.s. I've used this gas pump many times with my truck and it works fine for it but not the camaro.

Has this happened to anybody else???

Thanks fellow C5

I have the problem frequently with it wanting to click off and stop pumping. It seems as though you have to have the angel just right and I haven't experienced this problem with any other vehicle I've owned. Sometimes I'll click it in place once and that's all it takes while other times I'll have to do it 3-4 times.

The gas tank sits to high. You have to angle the handle up. Shell is the worst, but the best as far as gas goes.

Mine works at all stations, usually, if not, and the pump is feeling extra 'flowy' that day, i put it on a slower notch. The middle usually works, but the slowest always works. The fastest works 90% of the time, so i rarely have to mess with it

When I rented the 2LT, realized that the cap holder on the fuel door is NOT for the cap itself, but for the plastic cable that holds the cap. You just loop the cable over the hook... hope this helps.

Try pushing the nozzle all the way in next time. I had the same problem and then one day i noticed that it was halfway in (like the metal part of the nozzle was still showing) so i pushed it all the way, set the clicker, and i havent had the problem anymore.

Gentlemen. Just because you can shove it all the way down the hole, it's not necessary. Back off a little....

As funny as that is... it's true. You gotta caress it a bit!

And I never really thought of the "set it & forget it" attitude was exactly smart when dealing with something like gasoline.

No complaints here.
