This sound is annoying me to death, HELP! (video)
Since day 1 my car has been making this annoying ticking sound that speeds up with RPM and isn't noticeable at idle. The dealer said it was normal injector noise but i find it impossible that GM would sell a car that makes such an annoying sound. If the radio is off it's VERY noticeable and embarrassing. Is it normal?!
Here's a sound clip from INSIDE the cabin http://youtu.be/02yldJTPP-k |

That is sure as hell NOT NORMAL. Have the service manager go with you test driving a brand new V6, then drive yours. Should be clear as day.
Or find a competant dealership to take your car for service. Best of luck.

It is actually the high-pressure fuel pump. It is cam driven and the noise is normal. If you think it is loud on the Camaro, you should hear the one on my EcoBoost F-150. Everyone keeps asking me if I have valve problems.

I need to compare it to another LLT because there is NO way it should be as intrusive as it is

There is no way it should be that loud, I hear no ticking inside my car. I only hear it with the hood open, or next to a wall, enclosure, etc.

PM Beauwulf, I think he live down around you.
I can just barely hear it with the windows up, but with the windows down I can. I have a pretty loud exhaust.

Can any other 2010-11 V6 owners chime in?

That doesn't sound like a normal noise to me.

I had a 2010 V6 and the only time I could hear the injector ticking was at a drive thru at idle with my windows down or like others said with the hood open....I highly suggest (like others) having them drive another LLT and then drive yours....no way it should be that noticeable in the cabin.

I had a 2010 2LT/RS for 2 years, and I NEVER heard a noise like that. I had plenty of other problems and noises with mine... But that was not one of them. Something is definitely wrong.

Well I have a 2012, and mine does not make that much noise while i'm inside the cabin. You should get it checked out. It doesn't sound normal.

Is it for sure coming from the engine bay? Mine makes a sound like that... it's the crappy fan they use for the heater/AC unit. It might not be as loud as in your video, but its just a video so I cant tell for sure.

Yes, it is definitely the engine because it still makes the noise with the A/C off
