LOL
It would take a very SERIOUS diet...

I have to wonder...would that really make the car quicker...seems like it would create so much more drag that it would lose the advantage it gained from removing everthing.

We already went through this. FBF said flat out they could remove a bunch of weight from the car but it wouldn't pass the crash tests like they want (need) it to. It was bad enough that some of the initial tests were one level worse than expected. There is no way to remove significant weight from this car or they would surely have done it.

Now, as for the 3.73 rear end... I'm in.

1,000 lbs does seem a bit unrealistic, but 500 or little more will certainly be in reach. I have a full size Altima that weighs 500 lbs. less than the Camaro.

The future CAFE emmissions will make the Gen5 Camaros a short run of 3-5 years. This is great because this is the best generation since Gen2. Speaking of which, google "Camaro SS70". I hope this is Gen6.

I will be ordering my 7th Camaro once I see a limited edition of the V6 for the 2011 model. To push the V6s, Chevy should offer a power pack package of 20 extra horses by tweaking the exhaust, cam, and use of a higher octane of gas. I would pay another thousand or two for that limited run. The V6 is really a 350 equivalent from the past.

Gen 6.
2014.

Even with the new platform, I doubt 1000lbs is realistic.
5-600 maybe.
