I really hate the hating.

I could say something about your V6, but I won't because I think ALL Camaros are fabulous and I'm not that juvenile. Oh wait, I just did. My apologies.

Oh yeah, and some of us are women.

really?! call me impressed. I rarely travel that far on the highway, but next time i do, i might consider adding 15 minutes to my drive, and saving some money!

HAH Just kidding. I think the D mode in the Camaro automatics is configured to shift a lot sooner than necessary for better fuel economy. It also hangs on to a gear for a while before dropping to a lower gear (when slowing down) that one might do while "tap shifting".

I would've much preferred to be driving stick had my wife not decreed automatic or no Camaro. Call it compromise, call it defeat... regardless, i'm driving around in a new Camaro.

Sadly, I'm getting about 17 now, but that's almost all local driving with lots of lights everywhere. The car can do much better when I occasionally get it on the freeway.

You guys notice that after you reset the the MPG average, it actually drops as you wait at a light?

Lightly step on the Gas during acceleration, and cost to the next light in hopes of it turning green.

If you want to cheat and be happy, reset the MPG while going on a LOG downhill. I got up to 40MPG which skewed the rest of the day's MPG to about 30 for 70% highway and 30% city

Sorry Ma'am ! I was just kidding I think If I had an automatic I would be on the tapshift all the time thats I know that that will kill my gas mileage. I think the default tranny and engine combo is pretty economical as long as you dont leadfoot it.

I use tapshift a lot. Loads of fun. I didn't buy it for the fuel economy. In fact, my car is in the shop today having headers, exhaust, and tune done. I'm getting rid of that nasty AFM!
