So, new question. When could you ever rev the GT500 to 8200 RPM?

You couldn't. It had the same function though for the most part. I believe its original red line was 6250, but once properly warmed and what not it could be held up to 7000 RPM for a period of time as well.

So, really the whole thing is bogus. It doesn't apply to any Mustang. That's good news, but I would still like to know how the engineers planned to implement such a thing. It is one thing to come up to the redline and another to be forced down from 8200 to 6250.

I didn't say I knew the truth, so I didn't say anything until I looked into it a little further and saw it had apparently been debunked. I like to do some fact-checking before commenting on something I'm not familiar with, others may not see that as a priority...

The following was my first post on the overrev that was answered with a point to the Mustang site the first posted it. Overev is a bizarre feature so why wouldn't we discuss it? Maybe you should do a little more fact checking
