My 2020 Acadia as Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency
Braking, both of which can be turned off permanently in the settings. However, every time you start the vehicle, a warning that it is deactivated pops up for a few seconds on the DIC. It also has Start/Stop which has to be disabled every time you start the car. Guessing that like the Camaro, these features on/off options may change year to year to further force people into compliance with the 3 letter agency mandates.

No permanent solution I know of just make it a normal procedure like putting on the seat belt.

Press Start button
Put on seat belt
Press Traction control button twice
Press Collision alert 4 times (maybe 3) I can't remember.
And drive away.

Check your owner's manual. In my '17 Impala you can turn it off or set it to Far, Medium, or Near. If it acts up or appears to not be working normally, perhaps you may need to clean the windshield or other sensors on the outside.

I leave mine on the "Near" setting, which makes it a less sensitive. I don't mind it except when it goes off unnecessarily from parked cars on a curved road.

Of all the nannies, this one is the most helpful "just in case"...lol

Good luck.

Selecting the Alert Timing
The Collision Alert control is on the
steering wheel. Press 3 / [ to
set the FCA timing to Far, Medium,
Near, or on some vehicles, Off. The
first button press shows the current
setting on the DIC. Additional button
presses will change this setting. The
chosen setting will remain until it is
changed and will affect the timing of
both the Collision Alert and the
Tailgating Alert features. The timing
of both alerts will vary based on
vehicle speed. The faster the
vehicle speed, the farther away the
alert will occur. Consider traffic and
weather conditions when selecting
the alert timing. The range of
selectable alert timing may not be
appropriate for all drivers and
driving conditions

I agree there's no apparent permanent off setting anywhere, it defaults back to ON at startup. But I think mine's flakey it's really intermittent. I get the little green car ICON on the dash but actual alarm is very infrequent to the point I don't actually feel like I need to turn it off. 23 ZL1

The green car is detecting anytime a vehicle is in front of you.
Disabled and it does not show the green car!

This is why one can't disable skip shift, AFM and now frontal collision warning out of the box (auto stop/start is another one in other cars).

It would be nice if HPTuners or some other company were able to reverse engineer the software and allow proper configuration, but of course it's difficult because these solutions are locked down pretty hard out of a morbid fear of liability, instilled by thousands of frivolous lawsuits by people trying to score a quick buck. It's not unlike inflation, once this "price" goes higher, it hardly ever comes back down.
Skip shift and AFM can be shut off by any good tuner

Yeah, and there are hardware kits, too. That's not what I was talking about though, but that if you want to leave the car stock, your options are shrinking.

Yep. Also same reason why you can only lower your car windows with the remote and not raise them, in the US.

Oh yeah, that, too, along with having to hold the seat memory buttons down to move the seat instead of just pressing them once and have the seat slide into place (like on other GM vehicles even as recent as MY 2016). Pretty frustrating.
