I can't understand why they moved the camera view to the center console. Having it in the rear view mirror (on the 2012s) just makes sense - your looking there anyways.

I mean no disrespect, but I'm still shocked that vehicles come with backup cameras. Semi truck drivers and box truck drivers generally don't have them, not that they shouldn't, but it means driving skill can be developed to the point where a skilled driver can back a 36' trailer around a corner and into a loading dock, without killing anyone or taking paint off. Backing a Camaro into a tight spot should theoretically be easier (and it is).

Here we are asking if we can get lines for our backup cameras, to help us back up. Driving a Camaro for the first time is scary, I know, it's big and hard to see out of and probably unlike anything you've ever driven before. I see that as a challenge.

Backup cams and lines and all that are great, and if people want them, they should have them.

Lines or not, I hope you guys are practicing and developing skill so that you don't have to use them; so they just exist as a guide. I don't like the idea of staring forward at a screen while traveling in reverse. There's more out there to see, and there's going to be a time when you have to back an awkward vehicle into a tight space and you won't have to use a backup camera. The skills you develop apply to any vehicle, not just a Camaro.

Also I think the camera was/is mainly designed to see small objects (like a kid that went to grab their ball) directly behind your car so you don't back over them. You would not see them in any mirror but you would see them on the screen!

I was at Chevy having an oil change done last week (Silverado, not the Camaro) and I sat in a 2015 in the showroom. I noticed the camera guide lines and wished my '14 had them (lines and warning triangle).

Now that I think of it, the '15 Mylink home screen also had a 'movie' icon. I forgot to check & see if my '14 had that also (remember pictures, but not movies / film reel).

I have a 14. My camera has the warning triangles that show on the screen. They show up on the screen at various places depending on where your closest to hitting something. example is if you were closest to something on the passenger side the triangle would be on the right side of the screen. And, it turns red when you get very close, like a couple feet away.

I would like to have the guidelines on my 2014. Even with the backup camera, I still use a combination of my mirrors and looking over my shoulder. The camera is useful but after having driven more than 15 years without one, it's second nature for me to not rely on it.

My 12 had the guidelines on the mirror. My 13 (w/ MyLink) doesn't have any guidelines. I missed them at first but now I'm good with it.

Would be better with the guidelines. Obviously that is why GM has added them to the 2015 Camaros. But I agree, what we have is acceptable and I am pretty much used to it. If there was such a thing as a firmware update to add them to our existing Mylinks, I would be interested.

Yeah that's what the one on the 15s is too. They don't have a DVD player or video function
