2013 2LS as a daily driver

I know this is very subjective, but I'm looking for opinions from current owners...

Right now I have a '67 Camaro as my "fun" can, and a 2002 station wagon as my daily driver. I put about 70 miles per day on the daily driver (commute, etc), and I'm going to need to replace it this summer.

While looking around at my options, a 2013 2LS would stretch our budget, but it might be possible. Does anybody use their 5th gen Camaro as a commuter, or am I crazy for even thinking about it? Otherwise I'd be looking at mid-size sedans in a similar price range.

Things like ride comfort during a daily commute, how realistic is the 30 MPG that they advertise for the V6, reliability... etc.

Thanks!

v6 or v8 are great daily drivers, when it comes to comfort. realistically, you'll get probably 28mpg on the v6 for highway miles.

Plenty of people use their Camaro's as daily drivers, including SS owners. Just like any other car got to calculate if it makes sense for you.

From what I hear around the forums the 30mpg is very attainable on the highway unless you're mashing the pedal.

I have my 2012 2LS as my only car so its my daily driver. its comfy, the arch in the seat hits the arch of my back well. its no cadillac but if you are just cruising from point A to point B its fine as far as the way it drives. I have a little over 11,000 miles on my camaro and I have had no problems with the car at all.

you can get close to 30 if you stick it in 6th going 55mph...at least that's what I've found with my 2LT.. you can watch the average go up and down as you scale hilly areas.. I could never do that for too long though.. this car begs to be driven.. plus, its such a stable ride it makes 80 feel like nothing
I've got fam up in Leonardtown near Waldorf.. i'm drooling thinking about those wide open roads

My 2012 1LT was my DD, now my '13 1SS is... Also use my Camaro as our 'family' car... I have a daughter and my wife is disabled... her chair fits in the trunk well and we're all pretty comfortable on the road.

My SS is a daily driver and I love it. Snow tires in the winter are a must if you get the RS package (RS package on the V6 comes with summer tires).

if its just you it will be comfortable and you will get high 20's on hwy if not 30's for work. around town with family, you got big kid? if you do, they r going to hate the back seat. i drive 50/50 and average 20 mpg. i could get more, but i like to get crazy once in a wile.

My 2LS is a daily stuck in traffic for 1.5 hour, 75 mile round trip driver..

22.5 mpg (half the commute is highway the other half downtown)..

Sure beats commuting in a Honda
