Question for anyone who has/had Koni Orange shocks.
As the title says, just looking for comments from people who have or had these shocks on their car with stock rims and tires. Bought a suspension upgrade from BMR for my V6 and was waiting to buy the Koni Shocks. I've seen countless threads and postings about people having clearance, rubbing and knocking issues with these shocks even with a stock setup. I got the 1.2' lowering springs where most 95% of the post I've read, people only went with a 1' drop (both on V8's and V6's), which makes me even more worried.
Now, i do plan on tracking the car 3-4 times a year. So, with that in mind. If these shocks are going to cause issues for me, which I'm starting to believe they will, how can i correct the issues that they present? Should I just skip the shocks and just use the ones that are on there? Only 6355 miles on my car. Or should i consider buying different shocks all together? Any relevant info is good info. I'm a car guy, not a gear head like most car owners, so I have no problem saying when it comes to the mechanical, it's out of my league. |

I installed Koni STR.T on mine cuz I have Hotchkis lowering springs. I run stock size Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires on 20X9's up front and 20X10's in the rear. I also have Hotchkis competition sway bars and strut tower brace. I don't have any rubbing and my suspension is quiet.
The OEM set were pretty worn out. The ride quality has been greatly improved. Last edited by azrickster; 10-07-2017 at 02:04 AM. |

I had the STR.T on my 2010 2lt and only had a squeak on the front drivers side. I had pedders fe4 conversion with sways and lowering springs. I also switched rims to 19x9.5. I had no issues other than the small squeak. This car was my daily driver and was set up for autocross. In corpus we run the same autocross courses for 3 months. With the koni's I took a full second off my time compared to stock on a 55 second course. This car did very well at autocross events for a V6 (CamaroFest and Texas Camaro Revolution).
I no longer have the car but do have the front koni struts. Pm me if interested. |
