Awesome looking truck I had 5 new Avalanches. But I never will own a full battery vehicle. No matter how low the price is.

It really makes sense to bring back the styling this way rather than spend the development money to turn the Suburban into one again.
I should have clarified that compared to the Silverado 1500 the sales were not good at all other than the first couple of years or so when it came out.

At $105k. But who’s gonna pay that much for a truck, right? GM learned their lesson at Tesla U.

They were never expected to be anywhere near Silverado numbers. It was GM’s first spin at what turned out to be a larger than expected crew cab market. Avalanche actually sold better than expected and pushed the development of Silverado / Sierra crew cabs up in priority. Especially once Ford entered with F150 crew cabs priced below Avalanche.

Yep. It's also as GM has said multiple times a fully loaded model, all option boxes are checked.

And it's not like Ford would price a Lightning trim in that range too. Oh wait...

Damn I commented on the looks before seeing pricing. Seems the only products GM plans to produce that peak my interest are priced in the $100k range. With new technology EV batteries and motors, Im just not sure I want to spend that type of coin without seeing how they hold up. Say the crab walk feature gets a mechanical issue just out of warranty or a winding in an EV motor goes bad at 60k miles. What’s that gonna cost to fix out of warranty....

Sales comparison of Avalanche vs Silverado. Keep in mind that the first Silverado Crew Cabs were introduced in 2004 and were priced below Avalanche, which was the first "modern" GM Crew Cab. (There were C/K pickups that would qualify as crew cabs back in 1973)

The first EV Silverado/Avalanche will be a 2024 model...Will these be in addition to ICE Silverado models? Will ICE Silverados remain in production for the foreseeable future, or end in 2024 or a few years later?

In addition to, up until as late as 2035 when GM has stated they will stop making ICE vehicles. When will the last ICE Silverados be built? Probably late 2034, but could be earlier. The market will decide.

If I can get the Trail Boss version out the door for under $60k I'll get one. The 1200 lb payload is disappointing considering this truck was designed from the "ground up" as an EV truck and the F150 holds more. My mother-in-law's 15 year old Sienna minivan holds 1600 pounds.

Yeah, that would make sense, especially with it being the number one seller. Probably the current ICE trucks will stay pat and see no changes in the upcoming years, just like the Camaro. Perhaps the Silverado will be the only make that gets both ICE and EV versions for the next several years.

It looks like the pass-thru mid-gate will be an option on other models in the future. From what I could tell, it looks like the work-truck won't have it. Not sure...

Good idea to make the mid-gate an option and save some money if you don't want to go full Avalanche mode...
