Costco had a product showcase that should buff that out.
But seriously, that sucks big time - hope you get it worked out to your satisfaction.

Whats wrong with Geico???, Just had a customer with a 2015 Impala,(with 300 miles) rear ended by a Geico insured person. The Geico adjuster would NOT pay for an OEM rear bumper cover. HAD to use an aftermarket cover, PERIOD!!! ON A BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!!! BY FAR the worst ins. co.in the NATION!!!! This is from 1st hand experience!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the other person was at fault which is usually the case when you get hit in the back I would fight for a new car. If they absolutely will not replace the car at least get a fair amount for diminished value.
Really sorry to see that. Really sucks!

Sorry to see this! It doesn't look totaled to me. The impact probably went far enough forward to hit the rear tire though and at least knocked it out of alignment. Worst case, it might have done some suspension and rear drivetrain damage.

I would suggest reading the insurance law for your state. When I had my little $9k door ding the law actually spelled out what the insurance company could do in regards to aftermarket parts and what rights I had with regard to diminished value. Most GM replacement parts are reasonably priced and my body shop was willing to work with me on using as much OEM as they could but some of the parts were salvaged and/or refurbished but that's the law where I live so I was stuck with it. If your state doesn't allow you to claim diminished value against the responsible party's insurance you should add it to your policy. And if you don't have any injuries you'll be hard pressed to even find a lawyer willing to press your case. You are pretty much at their mercy. Be polite, have all your information at hand before speaking with the claims agent. Commercial vehicles may be insured by out of state insurers so it pays to know the laws of your state. Just talking from experience. My car came back better than when the accident happened. That's not to say the whole experience isn't a big pain because it is. Such is life. Sometimes you get the man, sometimes the man gets you. Good luck.

pull up the trunk trim, look at the trunk floor for buckles on the passenger side, the unibody rail goes under the trunk floor. If that rail is pushed forward, it buckles and takes the floor with it. The only other thing I see, is the right rear tire may have taken a shot on the tread portion and pushed the rear wheel forward by bending some rear suspension pieces or cracking one (aluminum). Is the rr wheel closer to the dog leg than the left side. Stick your fingers between the dog leg and the tire on both sides. Right side maybe two fingers and left maybe 3 fingers.

Sue the dump truck operator if you don't get what you want.
by operator, I'm talking about the owner, not the driver.
