Getting a new phone is a pain!
I've had my Android S3 forever. It finally took a dump and I had to get a new phone. I went with the new Edge. I think it's an S6 (maybe an S5)? I dunno... It's the latest and greatest, according my salesman at Best Buy. I also ditched Sprint and went to Verizon.
Anyways, I sit here and try to reinstall apps, port over my old data, messages, photos, contacts, etc.. This is more work than buying a house. Jeezaweez.. I wish someone would say, "Here lemme do that for ya"..

Yeah, they can do that if your old phone works. They tried, I will give them credit. Problem is, mine works only when the stars are aligned and you hold it in a certain position while not touching any buttons. And if it falls asleep, it reboots, and you gotta start all over again. Which is why I got a new phone to begin with....
Anyways, I got an app called Helium, which is a life saver. Luckily, Gmail had my contacts list, so that was automatic. I am giving up on the old text messages. They are just going to be lost forever.

Those phones should be connected through google, google has syncing. You should try it, I've never lost or had to re add any contact info or apps..
I switch phones constantly, as for photos I always save them to an SD and just pull it out of the older phone..

My wife and I bought two new S6 phones 2 months ago. She of course (I asked her to leave it at home) brings it on the striper fishing trip. A few big waves, and the $600 phone goes right out her jacket pocket and is now at the bottom of the Atlantic near Salisbury, MA.

I hate even thinking about a new phone. I love my S3. Hopefully I won't have to get a new one for another couple of years.
