How much is the optional brake package?

There is an option for the 5LQ 6 piston front Brembos and I don't believe I've seen a price posted for those.

I haven't seen the price either but the 2015 option is like $4700. So it will most likely be close to that.

^^^ that's for the ZL1 brake upgrade.... the 1SS and 2SS should still have Brembo like the 5th Gen has

The actual cost might be lower as the car comes with 4 piston Brembo's as is. So hopefully they will counter the cost of those already and the 6 piston option should be cheaper.

Now this is not confirmed. But I am sure pricing will arrive soon.

Yes the 6gen comes with brembos standard. I'm betting the 6 piston upgrade will be close to the 5gen price maybe a little cheaper so I'm saying $4,000

I think the 4 piston brembos are an option on the LT. Does anybody have a guess as to how much they will be ? I believe this is a stand alone option, as well as being included in the Heavy Duty and Braking Package.

Stand alone as a dealer installed option on the 1LT and standard on the SS.As stated, part of the heavy duty braking and cooling package for the 1LT.

As an LPO I expect it to be around $1800. And it may not be released for installation until well after production starts.

I hope you are correct since no LPO pricing has been released yet.

I've seen a few pre-production photos of what looked like the 6-piston Brembos but none had the slotted rotors as described.

If the front rotors are one piece, then pricing should be in check, if 2 piece front rotors are part of the package this will get pricey. I'd be surprised if this option is over $3k.

This is going to sound crazy compared to everyone's estimates, but when I ordered my car on Saturday, my dealer had the price of the 6-piston front brake kit itself at $495, not including labor to install it.

I pray that you are right. Some people are estimating 4K that'd easily put my car over 50K.

I would call your dealer and ask him to verify that cost and find out where he got it from. If that is true, holy cray that's a bargain.

Can anyone confirm if the 6 piston kit includes red painted calipers on the front and back?

I know only the fronts get upgraded to 6 piston, but the order guide noted that they are red. I'd imagine the rears have to match color wise right? Would look kinda strange with red on the fronts and black/Grey on the rears.

And if they are only $495, damn cuz there goes more money out of my pocket.

I asked my dealer this cause I was also concerned about it he just told me "surely they would". I wouldn't want red on the front a grey on the rear either so I'd also like to know for sure.

GM has not provided that level of detail. But we would hope they will both be red. But if it's a dealer add, I doubt they will ship the rear 4 piston setup red and have the dealer add the new fronts in red.
