Upgrading from 2014 V6 to 2023 V8

Hello everyone,
I've had a 2014 LT for the past nine years as a daily driver and have been very happy with the car. Surprising amount of space, good performance and mileage, and a lot of memories. But now the time crunch of V8's disappearing has set in and accelerated my eventual desire to upgrade to two more cylinders. I have my eye on a rather tasty 2023 2SS that's right at the upper end of my budget, but has a lot more future proofing with the features and a much more satisfying driving experience.

I've gone to dealer lots and sat in a bunch of 6th gen Camaro's and my biggest concerns have to do with long term comfort, both on a per-drive basis and on very long road trips, as well as reliability of these post-Covid built cars. If any of you could share your experiences I would be very appreciative, as well as advice on actually pulling the financial trigger. I'm very excited about the purchase but it is going to be a stretch one. And staying in a V6 is still not the worst thing in the world, right?

I probably would’ve stayed in my v6 if it didn’t get totaled

That said I love the 2SS, probably wouldn’t be able to go back after my time in it

I had a 2010 2SS and now a 2019 2SS. Really, you cannot compare the comfort. The ride from the Alpha chassis is phenomenal and the seats are extremely comfortable. I’d do it without hesitation.

I had a 2014 v6 all up till this year. It had a lot more cab space but otherwise I don’t miss it at all.

I upgraded from a 2015 v6 to a 2023 2lt v6. Paired with the a10 it is much quicker and a lot of fun. I highly recommend the quad exhaust option on whichever you choose.

After 1500 miles I am quite content with the power.

If it’s a stretch for your finances, leave it at the Dealership.

Looking at the same thing. Everyone is different but that Gen 5 bucket is one of the best seats I’ve ever sat in.

To the Op, if you can afford to upgrade to the 6gen SS V8 it would be worth the money since the Camaro is on life support to end in 2024!

Yes, it sounds like the OP needs an affordable V8 model for a daily driver = LT1!

'23 LT1 happy owner here! Highly recommended with the RS package and quad pipes. Save a significant amount of scratch over the SS versions. Very comfy stock seats.
Not sure why you think our cars reliability was affected by the chinavirus? The robots never got it.

I have put 56k miles on my v6 and hope it lasts many more years.I drove a lt1 over a year ago and to my surprise didn't want to trade for it. The lower cost of owning the v6 is just a bonus.

I test drove an A8 V6, A8 V8, and a 6 speed V8. I also owned a g37 6 speed which was a similar power/weight/power delivery driving experience. The V8, in any configuration, is different and in my opinion, more fun due to the torque down low with the ability to still rev nicely. The one thing I do miss is the shorter gearing, but if you're going A10 that is a non concern. Definitely consider the LT1 if you like the base camaro styling.

You've sat in Gen6's...but you haven't actually driven one??

The driving and handling experience of the Gen6 is night and day over the Gen5. My 2012 V6 was loosey goosey compared to the smooth and tight handling of the current gen.

The power difference is noticeable as well. Honestly it never felt like my 2012 had 300 horses under the hood. Little Hondas made me nervous. It's not like that in a V8.
