Accessory Power Plug(s)
Ok, I'm being a bit lazy here but before I go digging into my F body manuals, I thought I'd ask here.
Has anyone configured or know how to configure their 12V power plug in the console to be hot all the time? I know I can put the key in ACC and that plug is hot. But, that does me no good if I'm trying to charge a cell phone or other device and the key isn't in the car. There is not much I dislike about this car, but this is at the top of the list. |

You have to run a new wire from the fuse block to the outlet. I did it in both my Camaros.

Remove the RAP relay at the top of the drivers side fuse box, and install a jumper.
See the black L-shaped jumper in the pic. The relay powers the 2 outlets when in acc or on. Last edited by GVA 45TH 2SS; 08-03-2014 at 11:42 AM. |

GVA 45th 2SS,
The jumper is an awesome idea. Where would I get that? Autozone/Advance/Pep Boys/Internet? I'm going to become a popular guy in the Camaro clubs with this one. |

Not my Idea, It came with my NightOwl Kit.
So all credit goes to Joe at NightOwl. I believe it is just 2 of these with solid core between them. http://www.tessco.com/products/getPr...o.do?sku=44984 Whatever it is it works... No need to run a new wire and both outlets still use the 2 20A fuses below the RAP. |
