Camaro in my mind's eye
I know a lot of you are from the generation of "slamming" cars and "aero", but I'm from an earlier generation where it was all about "muscle". This picture is what I see in my mind when I think camaro and muscle car. Just for fun I thought I would post this to see if there are any others out there who fondly remember the 70s street machines.

I owned a 69 Z28 back in the mid 70s. Unfortunately all my photos were lost in the divorce (along with most of my other stuff )

I got my license in 1972. I remember those days well. They are the reason I still can't warm up to the new generation Mustangs. I felt Ford had it right with the S197s. I love the looks of the new Challengers. I still prefer "mag" type wheels over the new designs. I am not into low profile tires. And I want lettering for my tires. Though on that I am thinking of breaking from tradition and going with red.

I absolutely remember! I always loved the tub wheel wells and fat tires.
My first car was a '69 Firebird. My girlfriend at the time was driving and pulled out in front of a car that clipped the rear pretty hard. I couldn't afford much for the repair, so the local body shop guy found a wrecked Camaro that the rear section was in great shape. To save me money, he cut the two cars up and put the Camaro rear onto the Firebird, a Firemaro of sorts! It was fun to watch the double takes from the local gearheads. |

The first generation Camaros are awesome. If I ever win the lottery there will be 69 SS396 in the garage along side of the new daily driver 2SS.

That is waaaaaay before my time, but I am still a big fan of the classic beefed up muscle car look. but in my opinion, that look doesn't fit on modern cars. i'll leave that look for the modern COPOs
