V6 2016 Camaro
Does anyone know, can you order the NPP dual stage exhaust to be added to a unit that didn't come with it.
I had to take the one on the lot if I wanted my Camaro this year. Its a 1LT RS, "just a v6" I know. However I LOVED the NPP on my 2ss 13, and I like the sound of it on the 16's V6 I have heard online. Does anyone know, can I order it from a chevy dealership and Have them install it? My stupid local dealership was like "we don't know if that can be done..." itd be 105$ to put the car up and take a look and we can let you know. Well F that mess, I don't get why they can't just know or call someone and find out. ANy help? |

From what I've read, you cannot currently order it separately. I believe one of the reasons is that GM doesn't have the appropriate software update since it's tied into the infotainment system.

I'm lost at "had to take the one on the lot if I wanted my Camaro this year" comment. You don't have to explain your personal situation, but that should never be the case. That dealership sounds a bit sneaky if they are going to charge you for investigating an exhaust option. Heck, they should be able to do a little research through GM instead of looking at it and asking you for $105. I'd leave and not buy the car there.

NPP exhaust cannot be installed by the dealer. This option must be installed at the factory. Since you've taken delivery of the vehicle already I would suggest waiting for a nice aftermarket exhaust.

Your dealer is trying to rip you off. the dual mode exhaust (npp) is a factory installed option only.
If you have anymore questions, ask here. We wont charge you $105

thanks guys.... I thought that was odd... them charging for it. I wanted a v6 (I had the 2013 2ss 1le and loved it but in NE for a daily driver not doable) this v6 I've driven in some serious snow and while challenging its been doable.
Guess I may have to go to a custom place for now, or consider the GM "performance" exhaust but I am not excited about either option because of not being able to hear the sound before hand. wish the dealership had order the 900$ added feature... I loved it on my old car. However a borla will probably make me happier in the end so I can spend the 900 and truly pic my option. Thanks for the replies. |
