It's an awesome car stock. And cheaper to keep it that way. 😄

It's an amazing car and going from my 98 to the 15 is like a quantum leap in car performance. I pulled the exhaust fuse and that is about all the modding I will do, well, for now at least.

That's exactly what I said when I upgraded to my ZL1 14 months ago. First it was the fuse pull, then intake, throttle body, tune, injectors, upper pulley, polished blower snout, cat back, heat exchanger, reservoir and sway bars. It's a slippery slope my friend!

Which is exactly why I won't start anything now. My 70 Chevelle and my rifles are my money pits. I don't need another.

That and being in California limits a lot of what I can do performance wise.

Tell about how much fun you have had going down the slippery slope.

Ok here is my current dilemma.

Winter tire selection for the SS.

My first thought is simply to swap out the summer only tires for Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I really don't drive hard enough where a good all season would limit my enjoyment of the car.

The other is to go with full blown winter tires, likely Blizzaks. Problem here is that I have heard they are noticeably noisier than stock and I have at least one if not two long trips planned where being on highway with noisy tires would be a pain.

And the third option would be winter tires on new wheels. Some suggest going to 18" wheels with 245 front AND rear for better winter traction.

Do need to drive it in the snow as it is my DD, but do want the car to look good every day.

The new tire option in either case is $1,000 adding new wheels that look decent almost doubles that.

House thoughts?

Go with the Bizzaks. You'll feel like you are driving on tank treads. The noise level will go up, but it isn't a bad trade off for the traction.

Exactly, in the Northwestern Indiana Southwestern Michigan areas for your trips back to Detroit. I did forget about the ATS being AWD.

Have you arranged for an early delivery 6th Gen?
