However, last week, GM announced the new supercharger, GM backed for $7500 and reportedly good for 650+ bhp.

I have had my 2011 2SS for 3 weeks, and I know what I would rather do, and that is get that GM backed badboy on there for $7500, rather than lose out on the depreciation of my 2011 already, and then add yet more money to the price for a Z28, which guesstimations suggest will be mid to high $40's...

That's just me. I just kinda see GM backing themselves into an odd corner with this one. Please don't get me wrong, it is a very nice car, has all the heritage and history and I am not knocking that for one minute.

I just feel the 2SS with the GM supercharger gives you the best bang for the buck in this instance.
You might want to read more about this GM LS9 kit. It will cost you much more than the $7,500 you mentioned.

I wasn't going off the pictures, odds are that Mustang was just one passing by on the street. I read in Tran's post that there was a GT500, as well as other Camaro's. I assumed there would be GM engineers as well, since there are always GM engineers with prototypes.

I'm with Morph & Fenwick. I'm in the camp that thinks it will come in below $50K. Before the 2010 came out, I remember there was plenty of talk that the SS was going to be in the $40k range. I think most people were pleasantly surprised the SS started at $31.5k. I think we'll be surprised again in a good way. I don't think the Z28 will be very high $30s, but I think maybe $42-45k isn't too far off the mark.

I think you're right. My guess would be starting at $42k and topping out at $50k but I could be way off base too.

It will not be an LS7 or LS9. Why is the LSA seemingly looked down upon in this thread? The CTS-V is ridiculously fast. Shed a little weight on the Z/28 and it will accelerate faster than a Grand Sport. Expect pricing to be within a few thousand of the GT500.

Part of me wonders if the engine specs taped to the dash are a bit of deliberate mis-information. If you know you're gonna be somewhere spy photogs can see you, why not do it to spread a little false information to the competition, especially if what you actually have is even better...

It looks like those mufflers are the dual mode ones from the Vettes.

Not sure what is more interesting... Posing the photos of the exciting new car, or posting copyright photos with alternate branding...

Interesting thread though - door numbers remind me of Corvette specialty cars
