Like I said, I'm not claiming the '17 M6 ZL1 is incapable of running a good 1/4 mile time. Obviously a few are going to get hero runs, but this car should be able to pull off a high 11 without a pro driver. Hell, the A10 has made it into the 10s. The transmission is good, but not that good. The M6 has a problem....trust me. I have the data to prove it.

I've been working with GM since June. They have agreed there is a problem (never in writing though), they're just dragging their feet on the fix.
GMs published times always get beat by private owners. The only manufacture that I'm aware of that boasts times that are hard to reproduce is FCA.

Seems like you should make a thread in the zl1 forum about having issues getting times that are faster than a SS in a ZL1. Obviously there is a hardware issue or driver issue as it has an extra 200hp. Not sure why you're posting about it in a Mustang thread though.

I don't know if it's the same one but a guy here put on YouTube a run of 11.59 @121 in like -2000 DA. In fact a guy I know drive this car later the same day and ran 11.57 using paddle shift.
He is saying that it's all stock with drag radial but what is not saying is that he removed 2 catalytic converters and replace is stock muffler with some BMW resonator. I guessed with don't have the same interpretation of stock.

I’m not sure if it’s the same. Older guy and the car was red or that dark reddish color. I could probably find it on YouTube if I felt like it lol

It sounded stock though

I wouldn’t be surprised either way. I’m sure lots of claims we see online have more to them

I list everything but you're right a lot of people any brand for that matter forget to list some mods

the gt350 is not anything to brag about in a drag race. Ford traded a lot of torque for a little "bragging rights power".

no matter. 5 liters cant compete with 6.2 liters in torque. not here to troll. ford doesnt seem to have the wisdom to raise the deck on the block .500"-.750" and stroke it to 5.5 liters. the coyote should never have been designed at 5 liters.

here is the deal man.....

i have a similar issue in my turbo that the new STOCK GT will run into competing with the SS in A10 form....

the GT simply cant match the horsepower disadvantage from idle to wherever, in the powerband, the gt finally does match the SS.

until i am allowed to put a real transmission in the turbo i have to wait for boost.

the GT has to wait for power. my bet is the GT is giving up 80hp from idle to 4500 or even more maybe.

AND with essentially the same power to weight ratio, the GT is going to be down a handful of MPH that is going to get worse down the track.


it is going to take modifications to get the GT into the same horsepower level off the line. a BIG stall.


ford has printed that the gt head flow is comparable to the gt350. it should respond to mods.
