LT4 eye-candy...Z06 v ZL1

I could only manage to find a partial image of the ZL1's LT4...GM's media site isn't as up-to-date as I'd like...

But even with this, I thought it was interesting to see the changes (as minor as they are).

The bottom picture is the 15/16 motor on the Z06. The lid is the smaller one.

I find the differences in exhaust manifolds to be the most intriguing.

There is no space in the Vette's bay. Use of dry sump has that motor on the ground.

Just don't see as large of an advantage to adding headers to this one VS the LS3 or LSA.

Other than sound and potential cam, are those the only valid explanations for long tubes??

I'm sure there are gains to be had w/ LT, just not as much as we are used to seeing. Not sure what a cam has to do with headers but that's something I may be skipping this time around as well since gains haven't been that great on the LT4 from what I've seen.

Pulley's and E-85 seem to be the best bang for your buck.

I must have been misinformed. I have always be told that longtubes were needed for a stage II or stage III cam???

I agree. Exhaust caught my eye immediately. The ZL1 pieces almost seem lighter, too...bent tube, rather than cast stainless...
