Exhaust fumes getting worse and worse
I've noticed recently that the exhaust fumes are getting worse and worse on my car like I'll start up my car in the garage for 2 min and the garage gets penetrated with the fumes that I can't even be in there for 30 secs, also at stop lights I could smell it alot... the car is cammed and has no cats the smell started getting worse probably 8 months after I installed the cam... back then it didn't use to smell as bad.

Have you tried to retighten the exhaust? Sounds almost like a leak somewhere.

Exhaust smell.
I have a 2010 with a blower. With cats. And the smell is bad in the car. As soon as I start the car I go to recirculate in the climate control. That helps. I did a search and it seems a lot of Camaro owners deal with this. Good luck

Usually if you are running rich you get the gas smell in a bad way. Very common on cars without cats or forced induction applications. You can see if you're tuner can take a look at it but without cats it's almost always going to be there to some degree. I wear my gasoline like cologne and wear it like badge of honor.

So a couple of us SBE Killaz guys (H/C guys that have all run pretty good) have changed our injector timing tables to deal with this.
We got this idea from Billy S (bfastnotlast), he's part of our little virtual crew. I had mentioned to him the fumes were driving me crazy, even after the car was warmed up. He reminded me that we had talked about this before. In short, I have changed the injector timing and it's way better. Brandon H said his car was a little leaner at WOT so I might have to touch up the WOT air fuel but I'm never going back to the old tables. Car feels as quick as before, maybe a little quicker. It's too hard to explain the changes, so maybe PM Billy and maybe we can? If not I can try.

Hmm... I'd love to get rid of some stink! Not bad cruising but at lights it's terrible

Yeah it's the injector timing.
Mine used to make my eyes water.

Well to mess with this you, have to have the ability to make some changes to your injector timing tables.

Find a tuner willing to spend a couple days on it. A couple of morning starts to recheck from stone cold. Most do so much of the tuning at operating temp, then ship it.
Also if it's been running rich, the O2s might be getting lazy. Especially if it is something that seems to be slowly getting worse. Like mentioned, a good tuner willing to spend time on it is the fix. But, before spending a fortune on tuning I'd make sure it's not as simple as the O2s have become carboned up. |

I drove around for 1.5 year with the car running rich at idle. I personally never fouled out plugs or 02s. But the rich smell, it was like it was loading up at long lights... Bad.
I can explain this to anyone who can tune their own car or have their tuner look into this.

A great tune is the key . Lots of folks think they know how to tune a car , few know how to get it 100% right . Here in Arizona the guy to go to is Nic D . I'm sure there are people in California with EFI live that can get you sorted out .

209 do you use someone to tune your car? That person could change some info in your tune to change the injector timing, even a small change will take some of the stink out.

Yea i go to Starkweather performance here in California, they've done all my tuning... i went yesterday to ask them a couple questions about converting to e85, then I asked about the exhaust fumes and he said it sounds like an exhaust leak, to make sure I have no leaks
