Almost all SS's at least in my area have npp. If you're not flexible on color, it may limit how good a deal you'll get. Personally I wouldn't buy one without $5k off msrp at a minimum. I only prefer a 1ss manual with npp. So I'd never pay over $35k before tax. |

Hey all, have a major update. Been talking to a dealership out of state (about 5 hour drive away) that has pretty much the exact 2SS I would want.
Exterior Color: Summit White Interior Color: Adrenaline Red Transmission: Automatic (sorry Manual lovers out there :S ) Misc features: Dual Mode Performance Exhaust, Navigation, Sunroof, it's also got performance summer tires on there - I'm going to ask if I can have these changed out, as nice as they are this would be my DD so I'd need year-round tires. MSRP: $47k -Incentives and dealership discounts that they are guaranteeing me: $8k -My car estimate trade in value: $15k +Still owe on my car: $10.5k +"Accessories" (need to check with them what these are): $1500 +Dealer fees & sales tax: $2500 =Total out the door price: $38500 I am extremely tempted at that price point. And for the perfect storm of colors & features I'm looking for. Locally, the lowest I've seen is about $41k and nothing in that exact color combination. Either I'm sacrificing the adrenaline red to get a white exterior, or I'm sacrificing the white exterior to get adrenaline red inside, etc. Thoughts? |

Good time to buy:
Pretty good: last 3 days of month - yes, not a myth A bit better: last 3 days of a quarter The best: last 3 days of the calendar year All this because this is when internal GM dealer incentives are calculated ;month, quarter and year. |

Well, unless it somehow gets sold between now and the weekend, I'm going out there to buy it Saturday
They won't hold it for me since I can't physically give them a down payment until I'm actually there. But they said if it's still there on Friday then they'll hold it til Saturday morning. Biggest feature it's missing is Magride which isn't a deal breaker for me. What are y'all doing about tires? Guess I'll make a different thread about that on the proper forums. Comes with summer tires w/ black rims. This will be my DD so still will be driving in winter. |

Got it almost 2 weeks ago
New 2017 2SS automatic, white exterior, red leather interior, dual mode performance exhaust, sunroof, upgraded OEM wheels & black rims, etc. Missing Magride but that wasn't a feature I particularly cared for anyway. They already had accessories installed including window tint so I couldn't remove the accessory cost (was about $1k total). I also added on tire protection and extended warranty. Out the door price was about $39600 (that includes the stuff I added on, taxes, fees, incentives, and my vehicle trade in which was worth about $5k after taking out what I still owed on it). Loving it so far. Since I bought it out if state I'm still waiting for my registration paperwork from the DMV (dealership said they started the process, I just need to wait for it to arrive). Carrying around my purchase paperwork with me until then. |

Sorry to bump old thread, but is the dealer on the same "quarterly" calendar as us? Ie end of June might be better than end of May?

All I know is "not now". Dealers aren't giving an inch, and I haven't been willing to pay MSRP minus the $1,000 market rebate just on principle.

I'm kinda wondering now what "acceptable" prices are. Getting ready to look at some 17 1ss models. I guess I will know soon what the dealers are willing to do. An interesting observation is that ones I have been looking at seem to have been sitting on dealer lots for quite some time. (4 months plus).
