My title said either 3840 or 3860 on it. I don't have it at the moment cause the car isn't paid for so I can't verify that.
Maybe that's with a full tank? It would make sense considering I'm down 2/3's of a tank for this weigh in.

I have standard bucket seats and no sunroof.

I also think there is minimal difference in my current wheel tire setup vs my other zl1/1le wheels with F1's. I haven't weighed them though so there may be a few pounds.

Yup, Cat scales are not an exact science by a long shot. My previous car on a Cat scale was 44 pounds higher then on the race shops digital corner balancing scales...which are super accurate.

+- 20 lbs is what I found online and based on other vehicle weights I found online, I would say that's probably an accurate D value. Other cars are weighing in 20 lb increments, not 50.

Regardless, 20 lb, or 50 lb, its still slightly less than the manufacturer stated weight of 3860 so really we are splitting hairs.

The 6th gen SS is supposed to be + 200 lb less than the 5th gen.
Based on the OP's comment, it doesn't seem to be.

The lightest 5th gen SS if i remember right was a no option 1SS 1LE which is something like 3,886 pounds. Keeping things apples to apples one should compare similar 1SS to 1SS and 2SS to 2SS cars. The 1SS starts at about 3,672 pounds if i remember from the motor trend article. The highest i have seen from a test weight was 3,760 pounds which was a fully loaded 201y 2SS 8 speed auto car. 5th generation started off (2014-2015) at 3,908 pounds and went up from there (except the 1LE) to near 4,000 pounds curb (full tank of gas).

You are taking the lightest version of a 5th gen SS, and comparing it to the heaviest version of the 6th gen SS.

Your car is 3,885 with a full tank per GM. A 5th gen base 1SS with a full tank is 3,908 per GM. A 6th gen base 1SS is 3,685 with a full tank per GM. That is a 223 pound difference for the same trim between generations, which is exactly what was advertised by GM. There has been a 1SS weighed with a 1/4 tank of gas that was under 3600 pounds, which makes it easily 200+ pounds lighter than your car with the same amount of gas in it.

That's not how I read the OPs first post. His 2106 weighed 3740 and the 2015 weighed 3990 (both auto trans, same amount of fuel, same scales). My math says that is a 250 lb difference. Alsio if we are going to compare the 5 gen 1LE weight in the discussion we need a weight on a 2016 6MT not the A8 the OP has.

I guess I should have also mentioned I had a set of golf clubs in the trunk. Probably about 25 lbs with the bag. So, probably just a tad over 3715 with 3/4 tank. Mine was weighed on a certified scale.

Outside of first drive reviews car magazines do tend to be good at weighing their test car, so you can look up reviews on different magazine sites and get test weight.

http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-...rd-mustang-gt/

For the Motor Trend Camaro SS vs Mustang GT they had a 6 speed Camaro 1SS with NPP exhaust option and it came in at 3,672 pounds.

http://www.motortrend.com/news/compa...let-camaro-ss/

For the Camaro SS vs BMW M4 test they had a 2SS Camaro with a manual and every factory option outside of visual ones and it had a test weight of 3,696 pounds.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ic-test-review

Instrumented test was a fully loaded 2SS with 8 speed auto which had a test weight of 3,760 pounds (assuming that Car and Driver weighs their test cars as well).

What do you have in the way of options, aside from the A8 and NPP?

Great, mine should weigh pretty much the same then. Only options on mine are low gloss black wheels, npp, and A8. So with a 1/4 tank, we're looking at about 3660.
