Wow, totally two differnt cars bro!
SS is sheer POWER and the 2LT although has good power as well, not in the same league. Depends on what you're buying it for.. The 2LT is more practical and if I wasn't such a performance guy, I would get the 2LT. Also, my SS isn't my DD driver so the "Practical" approach really has no bearing. Surprise you're crossing shopping the two. |

Not much of a decision Imho. If you cant decide, then performance must not be the main reason for buying a 2016.
Go look at a 2015 SS ... prolly get it for the same price as a 2LT. BTW what is the factors that you cant decide about? Comfort ..... options .... MPG?

If you're about having a fully loaded car get the 2LT. If you want performance get the 1SS. It's a simple decision. If you want both performance and a fully loaded car get the 2 SS.

As of now, performance doesn't matter. I'm swapping at v8 into my s10 so I already have a v8 in my life but I'm looking for a daily driver, comfortable on long trips and having those small features on the car. I'm thinking the 2lt and possibly swapped the front face to a SS or zl1 if that becomes an option from the aftermarket..

The 1SS is my DD. I don't find it a bit uncomfortable. I actually can't get enough time behind the wheel and find myself daydreaming about driving it. I thought I was being strange until my wife and son asked to ride around before we go home everyday haha. Maybe I'm just a simpler person, but the 1SS is "loaded" enough for me. Not to mention I am averaging 16.2 MPG and get over 30 MPG when we drive to the mountain roads about an hour away.
I also have a project. I'm doing a 5.3 LSX turbo swap in my 1981 C10 SWB. But that did not sway my decision at all when shopping for a new car. They are two completely different creatures. Even when the truck is done, I will not be able to drive it like the Camaro. I've never heard someone say they wanted something comfortable on long trips and a Camaro be on their shopping list. Albeit it's comfortable enough, just odd. I say get the 1SS if you truly want a Camaro. If you want a loaded comfortable car for $35-$40K, there are far better options. I've said this before on this forum: if I didn't go to the track, I'd own the 2LT V6 or turbo. Most likely the turbo. The SS is too much for the street around my town.

Had a 2014 2LT/RS and loved the car. However, it is still a V-6 and I was never satisfied. The 2016 2SS is awesome and I have no regrets on this purchase.

Get the 2LT. The new V6 is a GREAT engine that will more than get the job done.
Those of us who lust after the LT1 would never ask this question. Different strokes for different folks.

Get the 1SS. Unless you are 100% positive you want the V6 (which it sounds like youre not), you will probably regret not getting the V8. Regret on a car this expensive is a terrible feeling.

My advice is based on the assumption you've driven both. I had a similar decision a couple years ago with a different car. I went to BMW bent on getting an M235i. I drove that and test drove the 228i. I was so impressed by the performance of the "lesser" vehicle for so much less price and the fact that I get more options, I ended up opting for the 228i. For you, it sounds like you may be in a similar position, and also sounds like the biggest reason you're asking is for price. If price weren't an issue, then obviously go with a 2SS. IMHO, I say go for the 2LT, get the NPP option, and you're going to have superior performance for that price point along with extra goodies that you will enjoy. Nothing wrong with an 1SS and if performance were your main goal, then my opinion would be different. Heck, 0-60 in 5.1 seconds is pretty damn good though for the V-6.

Maybe wait for the 2017's to roll out. Might be able to find a 2016 2SS at discounted pricing. In my area I'm seeing 2SS's for $39k now!!
