I wonder if launch control works in the manual mode???
Haven't even looked into the launch control with manual, I can tell you that the sweet spot I found is between 2800-3k rpm. First gear in, clutch in hold rev around that rpm and dump the clutch. Do NOT disable the traction or anything. Just kick it in track mode for suspension if you have MRC. Just make sure warm up the tires before you do it to eliminate tire spin as much as possible.

Tried it!

I tried launch control yesterday and indeed it works quite well. Track mode, competition mode, mash the brakes hard, slap accelerator to the floor and pop the brake. That resulted in almost no slippage. I was quite surprised that when I pressed the gas peddle to the floor, the RPM actually held at 2000 rpm. It seemed to exceed that for a split second and then settle to 2000. I'm going to try it the next track day...maybe tomorrow.

The automatic transmission will come up against the torque converter and cannot go past it while you hold down the brake pedal assuming the tires do not break loose.

I have never heard of an automatic having LC. I had an M6 ZL1 and I know for a fact there was no LC in the auto ZL1.

Traction Control is another story. And for the record 'Stabilitrac' (as noted on the video) is about traction control, not engine rpm management which is what LC does on a manual trans car.
There are lots of cars with automatics with launch control. I had it in my 911Turbos S with thPDK 7 speed. It will make you barf in that car. Hard to clean up out of the carpet.

Went to the track last night to see what I could pull in the quarter mile. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I tried launching with competition mode, traction off, traction and stability off. My best run was 12.9 but most were in the low 13's. I do live in Edmonton which is over 2000 ft elevation but another guy with a '16 A8 ran 12.6 last week.

Anyone have any tips for launching at the dragstrip in a manual Camaro? Anything helps
