Update: Got the car back yesterday. The dealership replaced the crank and all bearings. I argued til my face turned blue on replacing the shortblock. No luck. All seems well now. Lets hope it stays that way.

Sounds good OP. Let us know if it ever starts slow for you again.

Interesting thread. Mine has always done it, and seems to do it worse the hotter it is or the harder it has been driven. But mine always starts. Just sometimes it sounds like it flat out isn't going to. Chevy service manager says they all do it when I bring it up.

yep...same here. I took mine out for a rip through the country and after a quick stop at Sheetz, I came out and the start was sooooo slloowwww. It did that a couple different times but never stranded me.
So far no issues with my 2017 A8 doing it.

It sounds like the same issues guys were having with the positive/ground cables in the trunk that was causing slow/no start

I can definitely say that my 1LE starts slower than my 2SS with A8. I've noticed that since day 1 of owning the 1LE, after owning the 2SS for nearly a year. Should I be worried about the longevity of my 1LE's engine??

Well since they replaced the crank and all bearings...350 miles since I picked it up, now at about 2k rpm and up it sounds like a sewing machine. This is the worst experience I have had with any car ever. GM doesn't wanna do any more then they have to, and their customer service is terrible. They think I should be happy driving a Cruise for another month while they half assed fix my car again. Somehow Camaro payments equal driving a car worth half the price. I'm sure Ill loose my car for another month and get it back right in time to put it in the garage for the winter.

I bought the car used with like 3k miles. Doesn't the lemon law only apply to the original owner?

Mine does it too. I wouldn't be worried about the crank walk though, as OP is literally the ONLY person I have ever heard of having this issue with an LT1 engine, and many of our cars have the slow start issue. Now if you experience other symptoms which the OP has been kind enough to share with us, like the car flat out not starting, you've got a problem.

I think it has something to do with the starter in our cars, possibly becoming heat soaked, or not wanting to crank on an incline.

They did replace my starter and wire for some reason with the repair. He said GM told them to.
