UPDATE ON MY HEATER CORE
Well I called Dealership 2 days ago, they said they got the part and was about to start on it, After he told me that I proceeded to to say you will be replacing the carpet and padding right? He said uhhhh uhhh well I don't know about that. I said well sir before you go any further it is a known defect in these cars, I paid for a full bumper to bumper warranty and the Antifreeze is Toxic. Besides that the smell will never come out of it. I told the service manager I expected it replace but I was nice.
I'm kinda in a catch 22 my dad has been the head salesman there for over 20 years and I know the owners well. 2 Bothers and a Sister. I dont want to make them mad and make trouble for my Father, but we might have some problems. I have still heard nothing back from them. I am gonna call them back Tomm and see how it's coming and get more info on th ecarpet and padding. I am sure I am just a worry wart and nothings up. |

I also thought you have to take the windshield out to replace it?

I would be calling the company that's paying the bill on that warranty. Your dealer will submit
the invoice to them, weather it's GM or another company. I agree the carpeting must be replaced so this is definitely worth following up on. Good luck getting this resolved.

If coolant leaked into the carpet, then the padding and carpet have to be replaced or you'll never get the smell out. Be vigilant on insisting on the replacement of both. It's the right way to do the repair.

windshield only comes out if they do the repair by the book. There are other methods if you search on here.
