At last it has came to this....Cam Install
So here we are on a Friday, getting ready to conduct a cam install. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I have read just about everything there was to read on camaro5. My hats off to robertway for his incredible DIY, IF it wasnt for that and a bunch of other members on here giving me some pointers and direction, then I would of had to shell out 2k for the install/tune. So, like my suspension install thread, I will make an attempt to update everyone every so often. My parts include all of the following:
LS3 545 Cam Melling Oil Pump 10295 Katech C5r timing chain Brian Tooley platinum spring kit (titanium retainers, dual polished springs, spring locators, locks and seals) Comp Cam Trunion upgrade Comp Cam Pushrod 7.400 Arp Balancer Bolt Arp Camshaft Bolts Front timing cover seal Water pump gaskets Oil Pump ring 3 Bolt Cam plate (with notch in the half moon) I have attached a short video of what it sounds like now, this is with the Kooks LT stepped headers, CAI, and Corsa exhaust. It has never been tuned yet either. Also, I have added a few pictures for your viewing pleasure (I know how you guys and gals love pictures).

Remember to use some red loctite on the cam sprockets, cam retainer and cam bolts. Arp makes some good cam bolts for 25 bux. A lil red loctite on the crank bolt too.

Thanks litle, I have the loctite and those arp cam bolts. Now just need to wait till the car cools down a bit before we start.

Subscribed. Hey man, I'm actually leaving TN tomorrow morning and heading to the Ft. Lee area for school for two months. I'm from Virginia Beach, and I will be getting my cam and heads done in November, so I will definitely look out for you in the 757! BTW, our setups are almost identical, minus the heads! good luck with your install!
