2013 Camaro v8 vs 2013 SLK AMG

Who takes the 1/4 ? saw one of these in town today. I know my v6 wouldnt stand a chance against the v6 version of the new slk. I was wondering how the ss would fare against it's v8 version?

on a side note I like the looks of the new slk just as much as i do camaros. I would of definitely saved and got a convertible camaro if they had the beautiful hardtops like slk do.

Without looking at the specs, I can comfortably say that any AMG product would destroy a stock SS.

EDIT: According to Motortrend, "0-60 happens in 4.2 seconds. 4.2! That's nearly supercar-quick, and this thing's a folding hardtop with cylinder deactivation and start/stop. The quarter mile takes just 12.6 seconds, and you'll be moving at 113.3 mph through the traps -- a very respectable clip."

so how about the v6 version vs a 2013 camaro v6 both stock. I have seen one of those around along with this new amg in town today. Just curious about both of their speeds etc

It'll edge out a Camaro V6, makes 300 HP which is less, but it weighs less and has a better transmission. 0-60 in 5.4 on average. The MSRP is $55,000 though...You have very low odds of ever racing one, the people buying a car like that aren't looking to race.

The stock 1LE ran 4.2 0-60 & 12.7 1/4 mile by Motortend. Almost identical to the AMG times for straight line performance but the 1LE will crush it on a road course.

If the SL65 is at 712hp it's not stock. They came stock with 604hp and 738lb/ft

Then it's a high reading dyno (and if it's that high it's defective) or it was done in the wrong gear. Stock SL65s don't make 700+ from the factory, otherwise Renntech's R2 (700hp,840tq.) package is the biggest scam ever and does not give you any gains for the $15,000 you'd spend on it.

I was with my friend at the dragstrip in his Roushcharged 660 whp Mustang GT 5.0 when one of those SL65 AMG's pulled up... Results weren't pretty. Friend's Mustang retains bone stock exterior. Here his 5.slow

That's a slow supercharged mustang that should be faster than a 11.9
