Quite possible. I just hope they provide it as an option on any new Camaro with a front splitter (at least).

Here's to hoping.

As much as I dread the idea of the self-driving cars, some people will be better off with one. Most of them seem to live in Texas. Of course, I'll bet you could say that about any state.

I'm pretty sure we will see blind spot warning, standard rear camera, available lane departure, parking sensors and collision alert. The curb camera available on the 2016 corvette would be a nice option too

Agree 100% - I saw a commercial recently for a car with some of these features, and it showed a guy cruising down the road, not paying attention and thinking of all the things he had to do that day or some sh!t. Then the car warned him he was driving like an idiot, and he remembered he was operating a motor vehicle, and everything was cool.

I was like WTF am I watching??? it was practically promoting distracted driving as an acceptable practice!!!

I get it, i feel like i'm one of .001% of the drivers that pay attention to their surroundings at all times.

Anyway, "They" are already working on car to car communications as well - all in an effort to protect us from the 99.99% of the rest of the drivers.

I know I'm just a bit biased regarding my own skills though

I've never had an accident before and would consider myself a good driver and I love these "new" safety features in my SRX. I imagine they would just be better in the Camaro with its limited visibility . Cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring are handy. I leave the lane departure warning off most of the time. I had a C6 corvette and parking sensors on the front of that would have been awesome! It was always difficult judging just how close you were to the curb.

Count on it. Maybe not standard though.

Wasn't the Camaro one of the few 5 star safety rating sports cars?
I am pretty sure GM will continue their commitment to safety and include a few of those items.
I believe blind spot sensors were becoming standardized but I could be wrong.

And unfortunately, in the world we live in, people change lanes first, signal and look afterwards.

As a biker, blindspot monitor should be standardized

I'm a fan of adaptive cruise control. I don't know how much of a safety feature it is, but it's really cool.

I just hope all these features come in a package that doesn't include features I do want, like an upgraded stereo, Hud, MRC or dual mode exhaust.

I have 0 interest in blind spot monitoring/adaptive cruise etc etc.

Considering how few people even use cruise control, might not be much for safety if they never use it. However, it might help with my road rage from people who don't know how to maintain a constant speed. So that might keep them safer from me

I'd love adaptive cruise control. I use regular cruise control daily.
