Amp troubleshoot

So I installed my magnum bass dual 10" system in my trunk about 3 months ago and the other day it just crapped out on me and idk why.

System info:
I had it hooked up to the stock head unit using a ******** harness for non B/A systems. Getting power from the battery in the trunk and it is also grounded in the trunk.

I ran through some of the basic stuff. checked my power and ground wires which I believe are ok. Checked for any blown fuses and there were none. Im starting to think that maybe my amp is what crapped out on me. When I have everything hooked up none of the lights on the amp go on. could this also be a remote lead problem? Im by no means an audio expert but I do have a decent grasp on the basic concepts. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to maybe test my amp outside of my car?

Try connecting a wire from the +12 battery to the remote input on the amp

Yeah, that's what he was saying. The remote turn-on is just a +12V signal, so he was saying to basically just verify that the +12V signal is getting to the amp.

If your wiring is good and your fuses are not blown (be sure to check the fuses with a meter as sometimes they can be blown with a hair thin crack and look fine), then your amp probably "gave up the ghost".

How old is the system, and who made the amp? Is it the same as this?

Ahhh ok then ill give that a try. and yes that is the system I have. I know its not the greatest quality that's why I think it may be the amp. It was brand new when I got it and was running on the car for about 3 months. I have the amp mounted to the side of the box could that have caused a problem? I heard that while its not the best mounting location it shouldnt affect the amp to much. Also I read about the clicking, popping, thump problems and my car was experiencing that on start up so could this be an issue?
