My Silverado diesel has the door on the drivers side. I just park farther from the pump. The hose is long enough to reach if you are 5ft. away.

Not true about CANADA I have had two Monte Carlos both made in Canada < gas door on the drivers side

It may also help with static electricity spark what I mean is if you are on the passenger side filling up you are less likely to get back in your car while you are filling up. That's just a guess tho.

My Olds has it on the passenger side. I wish my Mustang had it on the passenger side. It would let me park closer to the pump.

I never even considered the door ding thing it does make more sense now I just never have owned anything with door on that side. Most of my stuff is behind tag
