I have to agree. I have my rules, and they are in place for my 5th gen and my others as well. On the other hand, my wife has no rules, and I have to spend 10 minutes cleaning out the french fries, soda bottles, etc before I even think to drive her car.

Sounds like you are picky and if she is your wife then she already knows this about you and should expect this. I say your car your rules unless she is paying for the car.

Exactly. No need to sign a one way ticket to the couch by imposing all kinds of rules. I'm so picky, that she knows what will and will not fly. Not that I would ever tell her she can't get in because she's got lotion on...I'll just wipe up her seat when she gets out without saying a word.

Now, this is coming from a guy who used to be a lot worse. I've gotten some good advice on this forum about my family and my car. I now take it when we go places, a lot more than I used to. I don't worry about it getting dirty, or looking ridden in like I used to. And to be honest with you, I enjoy it a lot more since I've lightened up a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still very cautious about where I park, what's around it, and still very obsessed with keeping it looking good. But, I do have fun with it!

My kids climb in and out without opening the doors when the tops down. Drive inmovies and I'm vacuuming popcorn the next day, drinks, it's Arizona. It's a machine, a very nice one but no special treatment. The only thing is no smoking.

no food or drinks in the car
no sandal skid marks on the bottom of the door panel or door sill panel
no to go food unless we are driving straight home
no jeans with the rhinestone studs on the butt...ok, i will bring a clean towel to sit on
no heavy lotion
before we leave on the border (any restaurant) go wash your hands
dont slam the door shut, close it by pushing it shut on the door handle only, especially not the glass window
dont put anything on the dash...it will just fall or scratch it
no putting on make up or spray perfume in the car

dont think i am being too picky....what do you guys with spouses or girls with camaros think? what are your quirks?

Love my wife..love my two girls, but I will not allow food or drink in the car. The rest of the stuff I occasionally stress about, but 99% of the time I'm alone in the car. For some perspective, this summer my dear wife curbed the aftermarket rims on our subcompact daily commuter and gouged the sidewall on a new tire on our Enclave.

She doesn't drive the 'maro.

'nuf said.

I do not have that long of a list of rules for the Camaro but my 6 year old little girl knows to step over the door seal when getting into the back seat!!!
Whyda think people buy 'verts?

My only rules is feet will only be on the floor or seat! It drives me insane when i see people driving down the road with their feet on the windshield and stuff!

That would be like me telling my husband he can't wear cologne in the car, and every time he leaves a waterbottle he owes me $10. It's a car...I love my baby, but as long as you aren't causing her damage it can always be cleaned.
