MACE 25 mm Insulator vs RX Black Ice insulator

hi guys,

I have been reading a lot about insulators latetly; especially about Mace's 25 mm and RX Black Ice insulator.

Right now they both seems to work well and haven't heard any complains...

Still haven't read of a big difference between them either....

So my question is... What's the main difference between then?

RX if you want couple more hp pass 6k rpm. MACE if you want low to mid boost up to over 10 extra ft lb of tq around 4k rpm.

I would do MACE hands down, VMAX version is not bad either but one thing I don't like is the fact that it does not match to stock cylinder head and intake manifold holes which will create turbulence in high rpm unless you grind off the edge of the cylinder head.

Both good, but MACE all the way for me!!

I agree, these motors wind up fast at 4k+, the mace added a noticeable gain just below that.....

The VMax matches the intake manifold gasket opening exactley and is a one piece design to give as much isolation of radiant heat as well. The tests on the VMax were done at 3 different shops, on 3 different dynos, in 3 different parts of the country, and with 3 different cars....no tuning on any and all showed 20 RWHP and 25-28 RWTQ gains.

this had me confused at first as the LFX has a composite intake manifold, so no need for an isolator

Well worth the money if you consider hp per $.....

If you want an unbiased opinion, here's mine.

2 cars in our camaro club have insulators. 1 an rx and another a mace. I personally took a ride in both... The difference could not have been more noticeable. The mace was amazing!! It pulled hard from 2400K up until redline. The rx wasn't bad but comparing the two, it was evident the mace was a killer buy. When the member with the rx took a ride in the mace insulated car, he decided to sell his rx. I'm not bashing a product and just telling you my experiences so take it for what it is. I personally don't even have an insulator but I'm actually ordering the mace tonight after seeing the difference between the two.

I'll even tell you that I was originally set on the rx because of the fit with my vararam but even if i have to do some modifications, I'll make it work. The Mace is that good. The vararam and mace are a match made in heaven

lscamaro, were the other mods, tranny, wheels, tires, etc. in the two cars similar? In other words, is it an apples to apples comparison other than the insulator?

Yes sir. Both with injen long tubes. The only difference was that they had different axle-backs. Just those mods.

OK, cool. Sounds like a good comparison then. I actually have both version sitting in a box, just waiting for some free time to install. I have toyed with the idea of stacking both.
