The reason for the price increase is simple which is to maximize shareholder value. stockholders want to see profits and right now GM isn't delivering as well as they claim. Five years ago when they offered a share at $30 and today virtually identical. Not looking good for GM.

Also a reason for the cutbacks in warranty.

They are going to start maximizing the quality of the product and advances in technology. Gotta start somewhere

Shoulda kept the production in Canada and got a 27 cent on the dollar rebate lol (just stirring the pot) The 2016 SS will be a great performer with the new LT1 and lighter weight.

it seems the trend now for gm is to move production to china

Yep, that is exactly what they were thinking. And I agree, with all the added goodies, did ya'll think it was going to be free? Anyhow, I don't have a prob with pricing. I'm waiting on the next Z model anyways. The comparison to the 1LE pricing is what you should be going on.

The economy right now is in the toilet, one of the worst in my lifetime! Can't keep blaming others, time the president mans up and puts his big boy pants on, otherwise we will be just like Greece!

Try one of the worst in AMERICA'S lifetime. We need the Automotive industry(ESPECIALLY) to thrive if we are to recover. Even though I have my....(Ill choose a nice way of saying it) "vile distain" for the bailouts and unions, the end justifies the means at this point. Yet another reason I refuse to purchase an imported vehicle. I hope this is a great seller for GM and they can get back up on top. Their products lately have been awesome! When the manufacturers are on top, AMERICA is on top! and we ALL win!

If by dealer price you mean Invoice Price, I suggest shopping dealers who specialize in invoice pricing. You might need to wait a few months after dealers start getting their allocations delivered. But I do see the V8s being in short supply until we get to late spring or even early summer so those will be less likely to go for Invoice.
