Reved while passing... What does this mean?

I am visiting my parents this week and I took my dad for a ride in my 2011 Camaro 2LT/RS. We are just cruising around going from store to store and I see a Mustang Cobra in the left lane. Light turns red, and the final positioning is me in the right lane and 2 cars in front of me, Mustang left lane 1 car in front of him. Green light and the mustang breaks out and moves into the right lane then into a turn lane. As I pass by he revs his engine, I continue on straight and the Mustang turns.

I thought nothing of it as it seems to happen more often then not to me. But my dad asks "what was that all about? Was that a whoa, nice car, or a **** you" I had no response cause I never thought about it.

My dad and I got to talking and he says he never has that problem in his 2006 GTO. But I have seriously had it happen at least 5 times.

Has anyone else experienced this? and what does it mean?

Thats my randomness for the day.

Then again, some people are just jerks. I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it. It's the Rustang driver's problem.

It means he doesn't know how to drive a manual. There's no big hidden meaning here:

Yes... over-evaluation of another car just drivin' around, upshifting, downshifting, and... drivin' around.

Could be he just wanted to show he is a BA, could be showing respect for your car and could just f-ed up driving a manual

Honestly all are acceptable answers but you will never know unless you ask the guy. I don't think it's worth the trouble though lol.

The better question I have is why do all these mini-vans like tailgating me in the Camaro? Run in to about 3 of the same ones and in the Camaro they always tailgate me but when I'm in my G6 they don't.

It was a little muscle car love, did you get a look at his facial expression, did he wave?

It never happens to your dad cause most people probably think his GTO is a Cavalier.

I had a guy in a GTO do it to me once, I figured his clutch must have been slipping or something.

I feel bad for not referring him to a decent mechanic that i know.

Just one muscle car guy to another muscle car guy. Happens to me alot and I do it alot. When I see a nice Mustang, Challenger, or Camaro the rev is usually associated with a thumbs up.

Same thing happens when you ride a motorcycle, just a sign of respect.

Calling some people jerks, and then insulting someone you don't know all in one sentence. Now THERE is some irony.
