Convertible back seat removal

Hello,

I am a new proud owner of a 6MT 1LT V6 RS Convertible w/ Tech Package in Mosaic Black (no paint issues so far, woo hoo!). Really happy with my purchase, except for the non-folding back seat. This wouldn't be so bad, except that I can't seem to remove the rear back-rest either (like in the coupes). So like looks that convertible owners get the shaft: Can't fold the rear back rest, but you also can't remove it. Am I wrong about this? Anyone know how it's done on a convertible?

I absolutely love the car, and after upgrading to leather leather kneepads, the car is just about perfect for me. 8" MyLink screen and the new knee pads really spruce-up the interior, and the RS Package makes sure I fall in love every time I approach the car.

Just wish I had pass-through access to the trunk...

Unfortunately it's not designed to be removed as it would expose the convertible top when it's in the stored position.

I have a Vert and could not figure it out either. My only though is that the area is Made so that it adds structure to that part of the Body.

Probably, the car does handle very well for a convertible. Just wish we could figure this out!

Yes there's extra chassis bracing behind the back seat in the convertible that isn't in the coupe. Even if you removed your back seat you'd never be able to pass anything through the trunk.

Crap! Well, at least the extra bracing makes the convertible handle well on the twisty roads!

There are 2 tabs in the top of the seat. Depress those with a finish tool and you can fold the seat forward. There are a lot of electronics behind it as well as the motor for the top.

Hey Warsteiner,
Thanks for the tip. Car is at the Dealer due to some trim pieces popping off. But I'll give it a shot as soon as I get it back on Monday!

OK, doing this now . .

Seat back:

there are 2 metal clips that is you pull the seat back forward just a bit you can see the clips and push them down to un clip.

at the bottom of the seat back are two 10 mm nuts . . then the seat back comes out.

Seat bottom has a pair of plastic clip cups . . ultimately yank up at the middle front of each seat bun,

I've got a coupe and I'm trying to remove the rear seats to put on seat covers. Removing the backrest part was easy, but I can't release the front of the seat bottoms. I've yanked pretty hard, using "reasonable force" and they don't budge. I even tried a large screwdriver as a pry bar, in the center on each side, protecting the seat cushion with a piece of vinyl flooring and wound up poking a hole in the flooring. I've read of people breaking the plastic retainers. The seat cover place said I could come down there, but I don't want some animal in there tearing things up.

Suggestions?

I have a 2021 Convertible SS2 and I have pulled pretty hard on the back rest, I'm afraid to break something. Is it different on the 2021? I would like to put some sort of a seat cover on so my seats are.protected from my dog.
