Replacing the headlights
How do you replace the headlights on the Camaro SS? One of mine went out. Sorry if this has already been posted.

Pop the hood and at the back of the headlight surround is a round, ridged "lid". Turn it and pop it out and you can get to the lamp. Unplug the cable and then twist the lamp and pull it out. That's the passenger side. For the driver's side I think you'll need to remove the air-box first in order to get at the lid, but I don't recall for certain.
Be sure you replace the lamp with the correct wattage unit. I tried a cheap Chinese one and it kept blowing the fuse. I'm pretty certain it was because the cheapies were 50w or 55w, and the stock lamps are only 35w. Be sure not to touch the bulb on the new lamp. If you get grease from your fingers on it it'll reduce it's life expectancy. Wear clean gloves if you need to. |
