I wonder how different the dimensions of the 1LE/ZL1 (e-LSD) differential carrier unit are? Here's why:

The eLSD unit is made by a different supplier for GM. I haven't disassembled both, but I don't have any reason to believe that any parts are interchangeable.

Are there any pictures out there of what the actual mechanical limited slip differential looks like in these cars? Is it just a clutch type?

I mean, could GIKEN just make a diff unit that fits into the SS's 225mm housing, but accepts a factory, bolt-on 226mm eDiff gear? I guess then you'd still need a pinion gear to match, since who knows if the 225mm and 226mm pinions will interchange correctly into the housings. |

We could validate something like that if the R&P was sold separately by GM. Currently they do not appear to sell the eLSD gears by themselves.
