Is it me or does it seem like the 2SS priced high?

I have a 2011 SS/RS Camaro pretty much loaded and it was $33K, These 2SS units are $43 +. Seems like these 2016 are priced high, What do you guys think ? I would think I would rather pick up a used/left over ZL1 ?

if GM can take 20% off the 5th gen and still turn a profit, you can bet they can with the current gen

It was 33k in 2010? I would say that the 2SS is ONLY about 2k more than what it should be. But the bells and whistles added make up for it fully. I paid 46k for mine without any supplier discount (wasn't being accepted at the time) or gm card points. You can always wait to pick one up at the lot when 2017s are coming or already there.

Why would they do that? Gen6's are already selling like hot cakes lol.

I would have to look at my sticker. Just seems like the 2016 2SS is about the same cost as a new 2015 Zl1. I mean the ZL1 may not be as cool, but it is still a better car right ?

My 13 2SS R/S with sunroof and short throw shifter and heritage grille stickerd for 42k I paid 38k so i think the 16 is on par for the car you are getiing compared to the 5th gen !

Yes they are expensive. But if you can afford it, you do get a lot for your money. Ford and Dodge don't even offer some options that are stock with the 2SS. Plus the performance is better than both Mustang and Challenger.

I remember when I bought my 2LT in 2009, a 2SS was $35,000 back then.

I paid 60k for my 2013 ZL1. Claimed to have 580 H/P. But I bet this 2016 SS, is faster, and has more/better options the Z had. Not downing the Z, but I believe the 2016 SS price is good for the power and options. Of course, there are no rebates or incentives off sticker price, yet.

A 2010 2SS started at 34 including destination. A 2016 2SS starts at around 42 including destination, and has a crap ton more features and performance. Lets keep this on factual ground, instead of making it sound like any 2SS is going to be going for 48+.

This is the very first thread based on price and I have to say that GM is crazy if they think anyone would pay more than $15K for the highest performing pony car available, just plum crazy they are!!

Nope, there aren't any other price based threads since pricing was announced a few months back...nope, not one.

I think they're priced too high as well, but since I'm not a potential buyer my opinion is kind of irrelevant. ZL1's are ok, but I've driven one a couple of times and they feel kind of slow. Get what makes you smile, not what other people think is good. For a loaded 2ss price, I would take a look at 13-14 GT500's. Depreciation probably wouldn't be bad since they didn't make very many and they have good power. You can also look at used CTSV's and Z06's. My point is, that there are some good used alternatives out there that still might have the factory warranty.

They're attaching a premium, they would be stupid not to.
It's a corporation, not a non-profit organization. they're going to ride the "new" wave for all its worth.
