2016 Camaro Drive Modes / Launch Control and more

With the reveal of the full car manual, I found a lot of the information around the Drive Modes pretty interesting.

We now have full details along with a nice list of options for the settings of Throttle Progression, Transmission Shift Mode. Engine Sound Management, Steering, StabiliTrak, MRC, Launch Control (Manual Only) and Traction Control.

Overall some really cool stuff below to read up on.

thx very much for this !
so there is now way for full open exhaust without switching in track mode.
every time i see that awful mode selector switch i remember that nice round knob in the Corvette for the same functions.....chevy really, is that nice knob so expensive not to use it in the Camaro ?
Even more now a C7 AND Camaro driver perhaps get frustated because that mode selector switch in the Camaro is easy to mistake as the hand brake in the C7.

Looks like you can customize the settings via the radio to override the stock settings. So you can set it up how you want. The above is just showing factory settings for each mode and outlines what each thing actual does

The chart shows Launch Control is for manuals only, but they give instructions how to use it for an automatic. Which is it? That would be great if they have it for the autos.

It won't be that bad. On my car you quickly double tap the traction control button on the console to enter the different modes (called PTM), then use the Tour or Sport button to select the mode which is displayed in the DIC momentarily. Maybe's it me, but I like the button for this and I like that they went to a single one. Should be pretty easy to use while driving.

You are correct page 226 outlines automatic launch control. I am guessing it's exactly the same as the A8 in the new Vettes. It will hold the rpm to 1600-1800 rpm when launched.

If you check the Vette forums it definitely eliminates wheel spin however some report crappy 60' times as a result

Good to know. It's worthless on my car as well. Better 0-60 and 60' with everything turned off.

Yes, page 134 in the manual under Vehicle Personlization > Driving Mode > Engine Sound Management.

@sledgehammer70 . . . THIS is one of the MANY reasons why you are so loved .. important .. and looked up to. As I said before, you are a strong influence on the reason why I bought my "50". I was in the hunt for a 2015 Camaro, got wind of the 2016 and all of the new changes, then heard about the 2017 Anniversary car . . . . and so here we are. You are appreciated ... your blogs ... videos ... showcases . . . . THANK YOU (a little more than a year later)

Dude read the thread. This post was resurrected from over a year ago before the manual was even available.
