Angry What the heck is an "Oh Ten" Camaro?

The madness must end now -- dealers are advertising "Oh Ten" and "Oh Eleven" Camaros and other cars on TV and radio.

Can't they just say "eleven" or "twenty ten?"

How long is this madness going to continue? Are we going to have "Oh 50" Camaros? It could last another 90 years!!!

For the record, it's not "two thousand ten," it's "twenty ten."

We didn't say "nineteen hundred eighty six" -- it was "nineteen eighty six."

Twenty Ten. Period.

OH Ten? Really?

An innocent kitten is murdered every time someone says something as dumb as "Oh Ten". I hate it when I hear that shit. Seriously people, do it for the kittens...

Personally I just used " eighty six " because the " nineteen " was a given ...

When the 5th Gen first came out and I was talking about it, calling it a 20-10, I was looked at like I was dumb and people tried correcting me and say 2000-10. I said the same thing about 19-90 Camaro, not 1000-900-90 Camaro or 1900-90 Camaro. So agree 100% with you. Now I just call it the 5th Gen.

I just say 10. Last year was oh nine. I just take the last two numbers of the year and say that. Like 2009=oh nine 2010=ten 1990=ninety (you get the idea). I think people just say oh ten because they're used to saying the same thing for the past ten years.

I noticed it long before there was texting. The reason is people have been lazy for a very long time. I've always avoided using abbreviations while speaking, and some people look at me as if I'm from another planet.

I hate Twenty Ten. This is just me but:

$2010.00 = Two Thousand Ten Dollars
$20.10 = Twenty Dollars and Ten cents

2010 = Twenty hundred Ten? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't like that written on my diploma.

1997 was written on my diploma as Nineteen Hundred Ninety Seven.

I still prefer to call the years, Two Thousand (whatever). I personally wouldn't switch until "2100"

The linguist who said we should call it Twenty Ten also said we should have called the previous years such as "2008" as Twenty Ought Eight.

Twenty ten sounds like someone who doesn't know English who is counting to thirty. Twenty eight, twenty nine, twenty ten.

I suppose oh ten would work because the year could be said as two oh ten. It sounds just as incorrect as thirt...twenty ten does to me.
