well I got some bad news I pulled my drivers side strut off last night and it's cracked in the 3 places but hasn't failed completely, all bolts are in place. MMS is going to send out the drivers side also and I'm going to try again with a new set. MMS is also going to look into revising the design to strengthen the different parts. I'll post some pics when I get a chance today. Thanks again to MMS for being available after hours I appreciate it.

Eric SS - How do I move the thread to the autocross/track section? Do I have to request a moderator to do it?

You can create a thread there and x-ref this one with a link?

So on the other side the bolt hasn't backed out? (as originally suspected?).

Cool thanks for the info. Correct, none of the bolts had backed out and everything was torqued to spec.

Well then this being a "fluke" seems a remote possibility only. If it were me I wouldn't run them again until the vendor had a chance to thoroughly investigate why they failed and correct whatever needs correcting. And hopefully test the crap out of them as well, before releasing them again.

OK, now I"m a little scared with this 2 day track event I have coming up in 1.5 weeks. I'm going to check mine when I get home. I only have one (single day) event on them which was only 3 sessions on a smallish track. Can you see this from below the car without removing it?

Probably not if it hasn't failed completely unless the crack is on the side facing outward. Just check your alignment after every run and see if there's any noticeable change and you should be okay. I think mine failed prior to the last autocross event I did and I didn't notice anything. The strut will stay in place as long as you don't go over a huge bump at a high rate of speed.

I'll keep in touch and provide updates after I get my new set on. I'm planning on taking my struts out to inspect after every 2-3 autocross events or 1 track day.

Thanks for continuing to provide updates. Pulling the struts out after every event will get old quickly and will be such a pain in the ass. Not to mention having to pay for alignments all the time and forcing the knuckle bolts in and out of the knuckle over and over again will wear the knuckle and the hardware.

No problem at all. I'm hoping after 6-7 events they're still holding strong and then I won't pull them anymore unless I feel or see something odd, so I'll probably pull them around 3 times. The alignment shop I go to has a good deal you pay $250 and get unlimited alignments for a year so I'm covered on that side.

Man oh man...if it were me I wouldn't be "hoping" at all given BOTH failed and given potential consequences. If you happen to run out of luck and wreck it could be fugly....
