Mylink Nav Issues

My car did not originally come with navigation. I added the I06 module after market. When it works, it works pretty good. Problem is it works about 80% if the time. The other 20%, it keeps losing calibration, and for no apparent reason. I am wondering whether those of you that have cars that came with the nav originally are having similar issues. When it loses calibration, all of a sudden it is placing me somewhere in the vicinity of where I actually am but several miles away. I believe the only difference between my setup and cars that came with the nav would be the antenna. The original cars use the shark fin antenna while my setup has a portable antenna tucked under the dash. There is not much I can do about my issues since the warranty won't cover it.

Sounds like you are losing the signal either intermittently or the location is not strong enough to maintain enough satellites for a precise fix. Maybe check the antenna wire and be sure everything is snug. If that doesn't fix it, I'd mount the antenna on the dash long enough to test.
