Two simple questions

1) How accurate is the DIC for showing tire pressure? I checked mine cold with a digital tire gauge and they showed 36.5, but the DIC showed them at 37 and 38 cold.

2) Can anyone suggest a pump in the $50 - $60 range that I can use at home? I'll only be using it to top off the tires when they need it, not inflating from flat. I have no preference whether it runs on the house AC or the car's cigarette lighter, just something that's reliable, easy to use, and won't take forever to add only a few pounds.

Actually the DIC tire pressure (at least on my car) is pretty accurate. Only thing is that it reads 3 lbs lower than actual. Always has. If it says 33 psi then it is 36 psi spot on. It takes a while for them to adjust after the car has been sitting a while but after you drive for about 10 minutes they should read accurately (3 lbs lower than reality) but all 4 tires should read correctly.

Who's knows if the dic is actually correct , but the gages that you use are over and above the actually pressure !?

We put the VIAIR 90P compressor in our vehicles at work, they're heavy duty, quiet and reliable. We use them for off-road driving in nasty conditions, which is why we went with the 90P. Here's a slightly less expensive and more car-centric compressor that's equally reliable (VIAIR 70P). I'd highly recommend this brand.

I don't trust the DIC too much because when I bought new wheels and left the wheels with TPMS at home it the car didn't know for like 20 miles.

I usually trust my DIC although it has gotten me into trouble from time to time over the years. I say if you can't trust your DIC who can you trust?

I bought a fairly nice gauge and found that always reads 1 pound lower than the DIC.
I decided to trust the hand held gauge.

Track day, I borrowed a couple of really nice gauges. DIC was right on with both.
Now, I trust my DIC, and know I'm a pound short when my gauge is in my hand.

Regarding a pump, is the stock air compressor in the trunk not provided on the 2015's? if not, that's unfortunate.

That never even occurred to me! I'll have to check and see what's there. I previously had a Mazda that came with a can of glorified Fix-A-Flat in lieu of a pump. I guess I'm still in that mindset.

My TPMS system is always anywhere from 2-4 lbs off on airpressure. My tires may be right at 36 but show 33-34 on the DIC

Ghosted - Do you have issues getting screw-on chuck on and off the valve stem? My current compressor chuck is hard to remove.
Thanks!
