Console lid
Has anyone seen a console lid with a tray on the lid of the armrest for a phone? Other cars have them but curious if anyone has modded one for a Camaro lid?

To my knowledge none exist.

I have a cupholder lid, but he guy that made it no longer offers them. I got it when I had my iPhone 4S and since I've upgraded phones, my iPod touch lives there...

That is awesome looking! Did you buy it from a forum member or from a website?

It's really easy to make a rigid insert to cover the shift-console cup holder. I relo'd a aftermarket cup holder found at target to the passenger side footwell, attached to center console side-trim with a slight mod and some velcro to keep it steady. I will try to get some pics uploaded soon.

Here's a look... I know it looks rough, lol. I was going for more function than appearance. I will likely try the side mount cup holder mentioned in the post above to get 2 side-by-side and cleaner look. joann-fabrics sells the leather texture fabric that matches the Camaro's black leather interior to a T. The cover panel can be flush-fitment, that's the way went. I then used a plastic bottle cut to size and on an angle, and with its bottom side up, to then attach to the underside of the rigid panel so it would be easy to lift and put back, which also firmly holds it in place utilizing the rear cup position.
Be aware that the console side molding detaches relatively easy, I used tape velcro fuzzy to stick under the panel and the hook-side on the cup holder form to then press together in desired position. So far-so good as it has stayed in place with drink in place during acceleration and Gforce thru turns. It sure is nice having a rest for the elbow instead of in the cuphole. |

I use a magnetic mount. My current one has a suction cup, with flexible arm. Mounted on the transmission hump right beside my leg. It really doesn't get in the way, and it's a great spot for my phone when I'm playing music from it. Easy to change songs and such. I used the more permanent mount previously, but I wanted something out of the way (already have enough stuff on the windshield)
Here's already link. http://www.scosche.com/collections/magnetic-phone-mount |

I use this, it was $8 from Amazon.
It's a magnet and a thin metal connecting plate either gets adhered to the back of your phone or slid inside a case, the way I have mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
