Need upgrades

I've had my car for over a year now (16 2SS, M6) and it's time for some upgrades. I don't know what is the best way to go so i'm looking for some advice and options from my fellow camaro owners. I want more power, only drag the car 1-2 times a year and autocross 1-2 times a year also so more for street and personal show.

I'm working with about a $9K budget including install and live in Indiana so places within 3hrs of Fort Wayne area would be nice. Please help ladies and gentlemen. Thanks

Real power gain = supercharger. Roots systems (maggy, eforce, whipple etc) will give power down low, centrifugal systems (procharger or vortech) will give more top end power. So it depends on which type you want. They all give about 100 rwhp, question is... how do you want the power delivered? The average for SC install is 9k to 12k. Procharger would be your cheapest option since you literally could install it yourself over the weekend thus costing you only the price of the kit (6kish and 0 in labor). So it becomes a personal choice on what you want when it comes to the power delivery.

Anybody who doesn't say supercharger with that budget would be surprising

I say buy about 50 oil catch cans. I hear each one adds about 20 WHP. If you daisy-chain them together, your engine will run so clean, you won't believe it!

In all seriousness, as others said your budget + desire to take the car to the strip = perfect match for a supercharger in your future. Either that, or if you're doing autocross, you can carefully budget out a bunch of suspicion component upgrades, maybe do some cheaper upgrades to the engine like headers and whatnot to bump the HP just slightly. You can get as complicated as you want. But that won't help on the strip if you just want straight line speed.

Call me crazy but I just love the sound of a cammed motor. I'd do an N/A build.

I might gen in the minority but I'd start with a strong foundation before going with a blower:

Long tubes w/ full exhaust
Intake
Heads
Cam
Fuel system
Tune

Once that's all done then I'd throw on a blower.

So essentially what you're saying is that to get a supercharger it has to be a 700+ HP build haha. I'm sorry but this is dumb.

Didn't say anything of the sort... but think whatever you like. Hence why is said it's what I would do.

There is logic to building a strong foundation first but for some reason I think it might be lost on you so I won't bother wasting my time.

I didn't read it that way. Some people start from the crank up, others go supercharger down. Most of us never have enough HP and always going for more. Putting words in someone's mouth is dumb.

Exactly. If/when I build it will be a stroker motor with upgraded crank, rods and pistons then motor could handle anything I want in the future.

Not to mention all the supercharger first builds that end up rebuilding the engine due to parts ejecting. It happens way more often than people want to admit. I spun a rod bearing on my 50k mile LS1 heads/cam car. I too like the idea of heads/cam/intake, but the bottom end is your "foundation". I have no idea what it would cost to have it upgraded, but once you do that you don't have to ride around waiting for it to happen.

I would go with a TSP heads/cam build, include their rotating assembly kit, e85, ported TB/IM and BMR suspension upgrades. Superchargers add a bit of weight in the worst place to put it.
