I think you might be off on that one, a rolling strat is usually good for shaving .3 seconds of your 0-60.

I've said all along this car would be priced in the mid fifties, in the same ballpark of a performance package GT500.

But with the announcement today of the 650hp no gas guzzler tax GT500, it looks like Fords both out-powered and under-priced the ZL1.

When I say I'd rather spend the extra on a CTS-V Coupe... keep in mind they've been discounted a lot at dealerships enough so that you can get them in the mid $50k's... Don't believe me... call a dearler!

Do they not realize that, that gives chevy ammo or a goal to shoot for in one year? For 2012 the camaro is still the car to beat STOCK VS STOCK in this war. Not a 2012 vs 2013 or a 2011 vs 2012 or however these magazines compare them. I am tired of different year comparisons. Do a straight up base camaro and mustang NON-PAID for or BIAS run on them both, then the same for the top of the line camaro and mustang out of the FORD or CHEVY factory and lets see who wins. That means Shelby Mustangs are out. If they were in, that means Hennessy camaro would beat it hands down EVERY time. So factory built only cars, and guess what... camaro wins. No matter what you say a shelby mustang is NOT FORD BUILT. It is SHELBY factory built. The camaro ZL1 is CHEVY/GM built. Let the bashing and stupid talk BEGIN!!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Loving the new ZL1. Wonder what we'll get dinged here in Canada, as the Boss was nearly 10K more north of the border. As for the Shelby, not being a Ford, sorry but you are wrong. The GT500 will be built by Ford's SVT team at the AutoAlliance International Plant in Flat Rock Michigan alongside all the other Mustangs.

Love the car... but, comparing it to an R8 and Mercedes etc. is just crazy - it's still a pony car! 6K above a GT500 - too much, these are comparable cars each with features the other does not have. Plus at 20K above a 2SS is way too rich for my blood. Makes sense if you are going to heavily modify a 2SS anyway but otherwise not good value. For me, this just took a turn towards the '90's GM where the camaro became priced at a premium above the stang for no justifiable reason. IMHO.

But like I said in the previous post. For the people who have money, its no big deal spending $60K. Its the working man with a wife and kids, that's got a real hard job convincing the wife he's needs a $60K Camaro.
I might be able to make your job easier.

The 2012 Camaro just aced the new tougher crash safety testing (top score all all 6 test) and its currently the only car on the market that has aced the new test (out of something like 49 cars tested).

You need a 2012 Camaro because you care about the safety of your kids obviously.

Nice, a lot of car for the money. Interesting on the top speed part - I wonder if it's gearing with an extra tall 6th. Most cars with 580hp can hit 200mph or so.

Hopefully the interior will have some nice upgrades and redesign.

I'm very disappointed with the weight gain however but expected in these times unfortunately.

Those comparing the straightline performance to their modded SS, there seems to be no comparison in terms of the road circuit. Suspension, coolers, etc.

Fbodfather told me I'd be happy...

And this morning I am!

I was hoping for 1 tenth better to 60 and a couple tenths better in the 1/4 and the rolling start thing has me confused...

But this morning I am definately happy to be getting this car! Now who's going to be the first to brave a tune on this thing with a pulley and long tubes!?

1967 Camaro weight approx. 2,800 lbs.
1967 Mustang weight approx. 2,600 lbs.
